Pest Control

Hey everyone!

Here's a video on how to deal with rabbits and mice taking over your fields. Hope you enjoy. Elephants coming soon!

Hehe,

Did you have some rodent as well, or are you still able to stick to veggies? How's your diet in general? I had smoked muskrat a few weeks ago - tasted not so bad :)

Something I was wondering about was whether they had major insect/disease problems with their crops. I've never heard it mentioned and suppose it would make sense for there to be less disease because there are not (as far as I know) huge stretches of monocropped fields for pests and diseases to prosper in...

I hope everything is going well - we just came back from Western and it was another really good one - a nice chance for me to think about fundraising and get more excited about it :)

Hahaha… no rodent for me, but Takora did just show me a dead squirrel he had brought back from the farm. I’ll show you the picture some time :) My diet mainly consists of beans, rice, corn flower (TZ, banku), cassava flower (TZ, banku), and a mango or banana every once in a while. I had some INCREDIBLE oily rice, pasta and spicy tomatoes the other day though!!! I have been craving pasta and pasta sauce for like a month now and it was pretty close! With the second bout of malaria, I have lost a lot of appetite for madam Mary’s cooking which sucks cause I used to really enjoy it. Hopefully it comes back in a few days.

I’ll ask my coworkers about major pests / insects in the region, but I have only heard small mentions of them. I hear a lot more about farmers going to drive monkeys and partridges away from their farms.
