Oh my goodness the kids are ridiculously adorable! And I can't believe how tough Madame Mary's hands are! Would it be wrong to use a stone or something? I don't think I could handle cutting my hand off :)
Looks delicious though. Can't wait to try it ;)

Great video Ads:) Yes, kids are SUPER cute! I am very impressed by the dexterity of the cooks. Who needs cutting boards---uhh, I do, I definitely do.

So great talking with you Ads:)

Heidi

I'm really enjoying all of your entries and videos, Adam; I'm so excited to read about your journey all summer.

It's so wonderful that you're able to eat super duper delicious vegetarian food while you're there! I was tempted to try and eat those yams through my computer...

love,
Tricia

The kids are adorable!!! They are hilarious too. I'm going to do a small introductory video on them soon, explaining who's who and fun stuff like that. They keep the compound very fun!

Cutting boards? Yeah... the knife wasn't uber sharp, but I was still cautious. My hands aren't as calloused as theirs!

Vegan food? The home food is totally vegan, but much of the food you eat when you are out is kinda drenched in meat... you won't get the big hunks of meat, but you will be eating stew that has big and little chunks of meat so you will be eating some... meh... you do what you can and then go with the rest.

Thanks for all the support!

Adam,

You should have your own cooking show. That was so awesome and made me totally hungry, I miss yam and stew so much!

Cheers,

Tom

Hey #1 Dad!

You bet your boots that I will thank my host family for you! Recently Madame Mary has taken up (with no suggestion) making me a big thermos of tea in the mornings. She really does go out of her way to look after me. It's even sweet when she says "you sit and chop [eat]!" I have learned that she just wants me to be fat so that when I go back to Canada people will see that Ghana is fine! And so people will know that they took good care of me :)

Hey Tom!

hahah... I'm glad you liked the video! The food is delicious, but I feel kinda strange having my food made completely separately from the family. I insist on eating what the family is eating sometimes, but Madame Mary tells me not to worry about what the family is eating "they like TZ!". It's a weird feeling to be eating on a chair with a small table, specially prepared food, while the rest of the family eats TZ and sits on the ground. That said... I have only recently won a small victory in being able to sit down on the ground without the chair! Madame Mary is great, but she want's to treat me like a chief!

On the other hand, I don't think I would be happy eating TZ for supper more than 2x a week as I just can't eat that much of it (maybe a whopping handfull) and it sits funny in my belly, but the taste is growing on me.

What did you eat for supper most nights? You were a vegetarian (vegan?) in Ghana too, right?
